HA7 Task 3 – Presentation of Research Results


The results of my survey indicate that People who play video games and are a part of the GTA 5 target audience are mostly male, in their late teens to early twenties, mostly white, play video games very often, have bought and played GTA 5 but not as much as previous GTA games, thoroughly enjoyed GTA 5, play video games for a few hours at a time and then their geographic location.

Video games have been mostly marketed towards male audiences, including GTA 5, which accounts for the higher male demographic and the same can be said for age although GTA 5 is directed at a more mature audience so the must common demographic appears to be the older brother rather than the younger one.

The race of players seems to correlate with the national population, or at least the local population the survey was conducted with. I doubt the larger white audience was intentional and GTA 5 was probably not directed towards one specific race.

Most people who participated in the survey said that they play video games at least once a day, if not every couple of days. I find that these results indicate a more serious audience of people who play video games not just once in a while for fun but more as a hobby, or even sport.
